So I think I’m finally getting used to this tumblr stuff.
My midpoint evaluation of tumblr vs. Facebook
tumblr Pros
- gifs, fuck yeah!
- Much more creative, much less annoying.
- There’s a blog for EVERYTHING.
- People seem much more fun and chill here.
- Less networking, more blogging.
- Very tech-friendly, user friendly, and instinctive layout (usually).
- NSFW content allowed :D
- Multimedia posts
- Really nice.
- A lot of cool features (different post types, reblog credits and reply, music posts, etc.)
- FANTASTIC for written works, the post editor is superb compared to FB’s notes.
tumblr Cons
- Less personal (sometimes a good thing)
- Lack of chat
- Minimal static information. Most of the things you do are on a feed that changes dynamically, as per the nature of a blog.
- Difficult to keep track of/organize followers and people you follow.
As it were, I will continue utilizing both.
